KFC has been an important fast food chain in India, competing with McDonald’s and other popular food chains since the day of its opening in the country. KFC has been another eye-opener for Indians towards the culture of the United States. The chairs and tables that were brought with globalization in the Indian restaurants have opened India to many new traditions and customs outside their homes. The new flavors and dishes added to the fast food menu by KFC and other such restaurants broadened the choices of people and their taste buds since the very beginning.
The menus served here are in accordance with the taste that we already have developed and are very different from the ones served in America where the food chain originated. Though India is flooded with cheap and delicious options for street and fast food, the choices given to us by these restaurants are incomparable. As India is more prominent on the global market now, as compared to the time it all began, we have many new options to open to us. Which is why we consider these restaurants less of a novelty and luxury now than they were once.
KFC, in spite of facing many ups and downs in its business in India, has earned huge profits with its delicious crispy chicken ideas. The food chain has faced many scandals since past years in various areas. The most popular being a fried rat being found in a chicken tub by a customer which led to a great fiasco of the brand’s reputation globally. However, the rumors were given a rest when a research team confirmed the piece to be a part of a chicken’s body, and not a rat’s.

Bacteria in KFC’s water supply?
A few months back, FDA (Food Drugs Administration) had to shut down a branch belonging to KFC in Mumbai, as a result of a surprise audit by the organization. The reason for the sudden shut down was due to the presence of bacteria in the drinking water of the branch. The same water was being used in cooking and other uses and was putting a great threat to the health of customers coming there.
Several complaints were made earlier against the branch, and the branch received many warnings from the administration in order to improve the quality of water being served. The water quality was checked again and the impurities were present in the same quantity as were earlier. “The RO serving water in the premises was checked and the quality was way beneath the standards of drinking water”, an official said.
